Why You Should Vary Your Social Media to Maximize User Engagement

Hello my name is Francesca. Thanks so much for joining me today. So with billions of people on Facebook now, how can you make sure your business content is still standing out? Well this quick simple tip will help make sure you’re making the most of your opportunity.

Try varying the types of content you post.

Every time you do a post, mix it up with maybe a video, one day an image and next a gif, a gif, however you want to pronounce it, some link posts and really make sure you’re providing a good variety in terms of the media that you’re posting.

Why? Different types of people engage with different types of content and you want to make sure you’re providing content that will appeal to a wide variety of viewers.

Videos get 135 percent more organic reach than photo posts, but so often people are overwhelmed by videos.

Don’t be. The best advice I can give you is just get started. And guess what, the shorter the better. Videos under two minutes get the best engagement, so as autumn approaches consider taking a video of new arrivals or new inventory at the store. Aim for just 30 seconds, that’s doable.

Posts with photos are three times more likely to see engagement than those without.

So next time you have a text post typed out for Facebook, pause. Take a second and ask yourself what kind of image would really help support this message.

Creating a good variety in terms of the types of posts you’re putting on Facebook will help make sure that your content is getting seen from the variety that makes up your audience.
