How Freedom Ag & Energy Keeps Eight Stores Current Online Without Slowing Down
Katlyn Cook runs marketing for eight farm and energy stores. She sends updates from wherever she is, and New Media Retailer keeps the website and Google ads working in the background.

Freedom Ag & Energy has 8 locations serving farmers, rural homeowners, and anyone who needs feed, fencing, propane, or wood pellets. Katlyn Cook handles marketing for all of them.

Her job doesn’t stop at 5:00. “I work 24/7,” Katlyn says. “I never know when I’ll be at my computer or what might come up.”

So she needs marketing tools that work on her schedule. That’s what she has with New Media Retailer.

What New Media Retailer Does for Freedom Ag & Energy

New Media Retailer manages two things for Freedom Ag & Energy:

  1. Their ecommerce website. Over 6,000 products are online, pulled straight from the stores’ point-of-sale system so prices and items stay current.
  2. Their Local Inventory Ads. These are Google ads that show a shopper a product, its price, and that it’s in stock at a nearby store.

Katlyn sends the content. Our team puts it to work.

Content From Anywhere With Uplink

Uplink is an easy email-based content uploader. Katlyn uses it to send job postings, store events, and special offers. Our team then adds them to the website for her.

It’s part of her monthly routine. Uplink reminder emails arrive on the 10th and 20th of each month, and she sends what’s coming up. Then her Marketing Specialist, Mara, ensures a timely monthly website refresh with all the new promotions and updates at the store.

Help Without the Jargon

When Katlyn needs something changed, she submits a Helpdesk ticket. She says it gets the task “out of my mind and on someone else.”

“Everyone is so responsive and so fast to communicate with,” she says.

She also likes that our team understands what she’s trying to do, even when she doesn’t know the technical term for it.

Marketing That Shapes the Stores

Each month, Mara sends Katlyn a content request email with ideas for what to feature. Katlyn uses those emails to build the merchandising and advertising plan she sends to all 8 locations. It helps every store know what story to tell customers that month.

She even runs a monthly contest between the stores for the best display.

The process works both ways. Right after a call with Mara, Katlyn emailed over three photos of end-cap displays from the Braxton store to add to the website.

Showing the Results to Leadership

Every month, Katlyn puts together a report for the company’s CEO and management team. She uses New Media Retailer’s analytics to show what the marketing is doing. In her words, “The proof is in the pudding.”

Here’s what September looked like.

The Results: September 2026

September
Website visits 12,191
Products online 6,260
Product page views 10,709
Local Inventory Ad clicks 3,938
Cost per ad click $0.27
New customers added to email list 68

Google ads brought shoppers to specific products. Freedom Ag & Energy’s Local Inventory Ads were shown 233,618 times in September and brought 3,938 shoppers to the website. Each visit cost an average of $0.27, on a monthly budget of $1,083.

Shoppers browsed the products. The website had 12,191 visits and 10,709 product page views. Cattle supplies, fencing, wildlife products, and wood fence posts were the most-viewed pages.

New shoppers found the stores. The website showed up several hundred times in “near me” searches from people who didn’t search for Freedom Ag & Energy by name. They searched for things like “propane refill near me,” “feed store near me,” and “wood pellets near me.”

The customer list kept growing. In September, 68 new customers joined the email list through the email-capture pop-up on their website, giving them a growing list of local customers to market to without any active effort from the store.
